Do you ever feel like there is a higher power? Something outside of your control, something that influences concepts around you. Something along the phrase of 'what goes around, comes around' ... yes I'm talking about karma. K. A. R. M. A. In its full glory and I mean that in a non-religious aspect, in the sense of a feeling that lingers anywhere but everywhere but you just can't quite put your finger on it or explain it.
Everyone has experienced karma, albeit the receiving end or the 'grab the popcorn the show is about to start' end; we have all been there. We have all been touched by her grace, and yes karma is a she to me as there's a level sass involved that I'm not sure any male could quite pull off (I am a male if you can't tell, no sexism here either so you can sit back down, yes you, you know if I'm talking to you or not!).
Back to the point we all either loathe it or bathe in it.
The upside or as I referred to as the 'grab the popcorn the show is about to start' portion is when that justice is served, that 'sweet karma' comes back around and bites someone on the ass or that inner chuckle you have when you've witnessed karma at her best and dishing out what is needed. It's a positive and a high for those who 'grab the popcorn' very often; enough to say that it could lead people to believe religiously and down that path.
However, on the contrary, when your ass is the one being bitten! You kinda contemplate the 5 W's; who, what, why, where and when. You ask yourself questions like: 'who/what did I wrong?', 'what did I do wrong?', 'why did I wrong?' or 'where did I wrong this person/thing?'. It's like you have to become Sherlock Holmes for ten minutes and magically piece together a timeline and a trace of steps that lead up to that moment happening karma smacks you in the face.
The main mystery to karma is the unknown. Never knowing when it's going to strike. Never knowing when it's going to make your day. It comes in all shapes and sizes and has varying degrees of impact and not to mention the timeframe can be anywhere from seconds through years. For example, small ones such as the dick who pushed past you in a 'rush' ends up getting trapped in the elevator forty seconds later to some major ones such as having a life-long scar, for the last two decades, on your forehead from a bucket (which I can neither confirm nor deny I did) thrown at you for trying to drag a fellow class mate out of the sandpit when you were in reception (reception, a.k.a. Year R, for those of you who don't know is a year of 'pre-school', then you go into year one) as you thought you was king ... haha who's the sucker now, ya shit!
Enough with the nostalgic memorabilia, I'll leave you with two different phrases/quotes that I've been told in my short life span that have stuck with me and hopefully stick with you too. One... 'don't light the match if you aren't prepared for the whole bridge to burn down' and two... 'never bite the hand that'd feed you'.
The invisible vigilante; serving justice where it's due... so, morale of it all is to be careful and be a nice person as she might just be biting your ass pretty soon!
